madimpossibledreamerI love this game even years later; the eldritch horror was top tier. But this bothered me, too. (Someone I knew in college was a big fan of these types of commercials. I just don't get it, man.)

“Uh huh?” He’s glancing through options, but despite the fact that he sounds a little distracted he’s listening. Probably.
“Why did they have all those cannibalism metaphors?” you burst out with, because really, it’s bothering you.
Okay, that definitely gets Yosuke’s attention, because his head pops up just so that he can stare at you with an expression you don’t quite want to examine too closely. You don’t think he’s judging you, but you don’t want to be proven wrong. “Partner? I love you, but you have a really weird relationship with food.” Something in you warms; the fact that he’s trying to do better about saying it, the fact that he actually thought about saying that to start with just to reassure you that he does care.
“This isn’t my fault,” you protest. “They were saying things like ‘enjoy every bite’.”
Yosuke finally grabs two (apparently he hadn’t found what he was looking for and settled on something else) and walks over. He’s taking a while to respond, so you’re pretty sure he’s thinking about it. Which is generally a good thing and something he’s been working on, actually thinking about what he’s going to say before he just goes and says it. “I don’t think you’re supposed to take it literally,” appears to be what he settled on, which explains absolutely nothing. He laughs at your expression, reaching out to hold your hand, which is really nice and soothes any hurt feelings he might have caused by what he said. “I seriously don’t know, but it’s not new. Though it might be more common overseas. Sometimes I feel like the marketing guys live in their own bizarro world.”
“I am never getting into marketing,” you decide fervently, and apparently Yosuke finds that cute because he leans in to kiss you.
“Agreed,” he tells you between kisses.
