I tried so hard to make the order make sense so they're actually going one ward at a time and then somehow wrote the wrong ward name here and gave myself a panic attack past!self why

Main Points:
Persona 2/Persona 4 crossover (Broken Hero)
Chapter Summary:
Maya-nee's apartment is preserved like a shrine to the dead.
Word Count: 770
Rating: Teen
Pairing: Jun/Tatsuya (only really past in this part)

Jun’s heart drops when he realizes where they’re heading next, because he recognizes that building—but then, where else would be of importance in Kounan Ward? It’s where Maya-nee lived, before she’d gotten married to Katsuya and come to live with him. Maya-nee’s Shadow had been vicious, and he’s not looking forward to what her ice statue could possibly say.
And yet—hang on. Tatsuya had never visited her apartment, Maya-nee had specifically mentioned that before. Perhaps the location had been mentioned, but even without stepping inside, Jun knows suddenly in his heart that the layout will be perfect to an extent even a few pictures Maya-nee had taken from whimsy one day will never perfectly capture.
His conjecture is proven to be correct when they step inside, down to the clutter on the floor and—he frowns, wandering over to the stereo. Yes, even the CDs are correct, although there are a few missing, which might be of help pinpointing when Tatsuya might have visited (and he’s not a creep, he wouldn’t have visited when Maya-nee was out for any of the usual reasons, so what of unusual ones…?). Sometime before graduation, if he recalls correctly, though it’s been many years, and unlike Tatsuya, apparently, he hasn’t been fixated on details for years.
“Where are the statues?” Teddie-kun whispers, and that’s a very good point.
There’s a frost covering everything. Like dust, like this room has been preserved perfectly for years—and technically, given that this is a recreation made from Tatsu-chan’s mind, perhaps that’s actually the case.
“Is this Suou-san’s lighter?” Seta-kun asks, and Jun walks over to the desk, and yes, there’s two items discarded haphazardly and frozen in a chunk of ice. It can’t be the lighter, can it…? And yet, there’s the inscription. “The most precious things cannot be seen,” he reads.
Jun’s hand seeks his watch, but no, it’s still there around his wrist. “It’s a replica,” he confirms heavily.
         “There’s a stuffed rabbit here,” Amagi-chan reports.
“Mr. Bunbun, Maya-nee’s doll.” He tries to continue, but finds he cannot. The children seem to understand their importance without his help, however.
“There’s blood!” Satonaka-chan yelps, and they all gather around. It doesn’t look like someone bled out here, or even that it was a particularly severe wound, but it doesn’t look good, particularly since it looks fresh, unlike everything else in the room. Perhaps this is where Tatsuya was ambushed by his own Shadow. Jun voices this observation out loud, but it doesn’t seem to help.
“Dude, this is like Yamano-san’s room,” Hanamura-kun whispers, and from the way the children react harshly, that’s not a good thing. It takes Jun a moment to realize he didn’t actually say Amano.
“Don’t say that,” Satonaka-chan hisses. Hanamura-kun manages to dodge an elbow this time.
“What does that mean?” he asks, wanting to clarify before the squabbling gets any worse, and Hanamura-kun fiddles with his headphones cord, clearly nervous.
“The announcer, Yamano Mayumi. We found her room, after her Shadow—” He can’t make himself finish the sentence, for good reason. Jun’s never heard of someone dying after a confrontation with their Shadow, but for all he knows, it’s commonplace, and all the more horrifying for it. Though he can see the utter despair one might have, how broken one might get after hearing everything it has to say. “...Anyway, it was, I dunno. There’s no noose, but…” Seta-kun and Satonaka-chan protest, but they’d been previously unsettled, so perhaps there was something to the impression, as Amagi-chan looks around thoughtfully. Jun considers this.
It’s despair, and—perhaps the lack of a statue is the point. They’d seen the diorama with a dying Maya, and this is exactly the sort of thing Tatsuya would do, visit and commit to memory her apartment after she died, cold and lifeless and with her missing. Cold and empty, with all of her things but not even memories of her occupying it.
And then he spots it, a pink camellia, and his heart drops, because it means Hanamura-kun might be at least adjacent to the truth, even if he doesn’t know that. “Perhaps less self-harm and more mourning. Apparently, he’s ‘missing someone’, and this is Maya-nee’s apartment,” he says slowly, and Satonaka-kun shivers.
“If we’re done, let’s go,” she urges.
“One moment,” Jun promises, walking to the door, opening it carefully as if anyone will care if he’s too loud or breaks it a little, and retrieving the flower. And then they leave, the lighter and watch and Mr. Bunbun left behind. Jun’s brain attempts to interpret that as an omen. He shivers.
