So, instead of the next chapter in the Holiday Fic, this happened.  Really, I'm not sure why this just.  Yes.  Confused.  (Oh, yeah, there's also a Turnabout Histories spoilers)

                “No, Wright.”

                “You’re never letting loose, Edgey!  You just have to relax sometimes.”

                “This is not my idea of relaxation.  Relaxation is an adorable dog.  Relaxation is reading or catching up on any number of shows I don’t have a chance to watch when I’m actually doing work.  …I’m almost certain you’re not actually Wright, but Larry in disguise.  You at least have a modicum of common sense and self-preservation.”

                “Ghosts don’t exist, Miles.  Come on…”

                “Whining like you’re ten years old is not in any way convincing.  And you’re talking to the one who’s been adopted by a family of spirit mediums.”

                “Well, okay, but they can’t do mu—”

                “I see you’ve forgot Dahlia.  The answer is no.  The headache and shivers I get by just walking past the place are warning enough.”

There are two possible endings from here, folks.  In one universe, Phoenix persists until Miles eventually gives in, and they’re nommed by an angry ghost.  The other, Miles stalks out, and it takes Nick a little while to be forgiven.
