Phoenix also has a weird amount of similarities with Kiryu Kazuma.    He ends up adopting a kid out of feeling responsible, he wears his heart on his sleeve (although Phoenix is talkative about it and Kiryu is not), they both have former friends that they’re wanting to save (although Phoenix accomplishes it and Kiryu does not, sadly), they both end up disgraced, their generous heart is both a source of strength and their greatest weakness, they keep ending up in the weirdest situations and either go along with it or wonder how their life got there, they are the luckiest unlucky people anyone knows, and both have a criminal streak (Kiryu’s is punching his problems; Phoenix has only ever done that once [with Edgeworth during Justice for All], but he’s a clear kleptomaniac).
