Main Points:
Persona 4 Past Will Tell AU (protag swap + Average AU)
Chapter Summary: A slightly different Velvet Room.
Word Count: 520
Rating: Teen (some swearing; it's Yosuke)
“Yosuke, you jerk, stop wasting time staring at the wall and—um. What.” It’s obvious when Chie realizes where she is and starts gaping, given how her tone and volume drops.
“Welcome to the Velvet Room, I guess?” Yosuke smiles wryly, still staring at the fusion options thoughtfully. “Is there a separate list for Chie here?” he asks Long-Nose—Igor.
Igor exchanges a look with Marie-chan, who’s grumbling about him again. It’s normal enough he’s kind of learned to tune that out by now—not from her, specifically, but he wasn’t kidding about that kind of stuff making this feel more plausible.
“Come on, boss, it’s not like he’s a Wild Card. They’ll need all the help they can get!” Claudia-chan calls from the other corner of the room where she’s expertly playing DJ. She’d gone the extra step of having blue streaks in her hair in addition to the outfit, which definitely looks cool. Surprisingly, she plays more than just the ‘Velvet Room’ theme he’d heard the last time he was here in his dreams, which is good, as while it’s catchy and he doesn’t necessarily mind spending a couple hours listening to the same song over and over again, it will get stuck in his head for the next day if he’s not careful.
Igor sighs. “Very well, but only if you, too, assume responsibility for the decisions you make.”
Chie gets closer to him, as if to protect him from Igor and the attendants. “Oh man, what did you get us into?”
He glances up as he decides that while Pixie is pretty much identical to Jiraiya with the healing, getting an electric attack could be really useful; plus, it’s also a way to cover his butt by switching to a different weakness. “Oh, I’m pretty sure it’s the same thing as a sponsorship. Not that they actually gave me a physical contract to sign, and they’re being super vague about it all, but everything they’ve said seems to boil down to that. We’re affiliated with them now, so we can’t mess up the PR by acting out.” He looks over at Claudia-chan as she switches to a better song to dance to. “So I can get out any Persona I’ve registered in the Compendium for a price, right? So I don’t have to worry about fusing away a Persona I want back.”
“Got that right!” she states cheerfully. At least it’s not a total graveyard here.
“Don’t leave me on my own, Sensei, I can’t bear it!” Teddie yells, barging in, what looks like actual tears streaming from his eyes, how in the hell…?
“Ha.” He shakes his head. Well, his party’s definitely not boring.

It’s kind of a shock to learn that the blue dance studio is real, and called the Velvet Room. He hadn’t bothered to pay attention before, given that he thought it was a dream, but now that he knows it isn’t and is the source of more Personas that can keep them alive, he’s spending some time looking over his options—having zio might be useful—when the doors slam open.
