The Invisible Woman

madimpossibledreamerprobably figured out what I have. probably not covid, probably not contagious, but now stuff has materialized for me to do in the next three days and I will probably be much worse and much more stressed.
Main Points:
Buffy/Yakuza AU, follow-up to Finding Their Feet (because really, the order after the introduction doesn't matter as much)
Chapter Summary: Sanctuary gets a shy hostess and stealth gal.

Chandi Bey shows up and shyly asks for a job. It turns out that she’d met Buffy, was saved by her really, but is definitely too shy to ask if she can work with the Slayer, and heard from a girl who heard from a guy who heard from a girl that they were hiring and could she maybe work as a hostess because she needs to learn how to talk to people? She’s rambling and reminds him so much of baby Willow and that’s an amazing feeling. Also apparently she turns invisible like Marcie. Chandi-chan is a hit with the Asian crowd and she still rambles and is shy but she owns being shy and opens up a little like a flower cautiously opening up. Or one of those sensitive ferns after it’s been touched, unsure if it’s just going to get poked again. It takes a while, but she slowly starts integrating herself more into family life, joining the game nights and shyly asking if she can join them practicing kata, until at one point she’s joining them and helps invisibly steal the artifact from the bad guys one night and blushes hard enough that she can probably be seen from space (for once) as everyone overenthusiastically congratulates her and claps her on the back. It wasn’t an exaggerated reaction, though, because the fight would’ve left a lot of the ashigaru hurt.

She smiles so wide when she shows everyone the Invisible Man tattoo on her back, awesome trenchcoat and all, standing next to a lamp post in the rain. It’s picturesque, beautiful in a bittersweet kind of way. She’d only gone for it after she’d finally worked up the courage to hit one of the bad guys.
