Main Points:
Assassin's Creed Syndicate
Summary: Jacob is a geek.
Word Count: 267
Rating: Gen
The minute the man introduces himself as Henry Raymond, Evie sees her dear brother perk up. She likewise has a fair idea of who the man is, recognizing the name from the cover of several of Jacob’s chosen form of reading material. He’s rather silent, listening with intensity that hides his excitement. If they were alone, he’d be nearly bouncing himself out of the carriage.
When Raymond suggests that one of them investigates, Jacob bites his lip, a stand-in for fidgeting in polite company, and without a word Evie nods her head in the direction of the crime scene. Her brother conceals a smile and barely restrains himself from bounding off like a bloodhound on the scent. This will certainly catch his limited attention. And, helpfully, it will probably also increase their standing with the police, which would be useful.
She has no doubt that later she will be hearing a sensationalized version of the story complete with theatrical gestures from her brother. (She is not wrong, though his enthusiasm does wane slightly as he repeats the words ‘use your powers to peer more deeply’ and wonders whether this means one of his favorite authors in fact knows of their Eagle Vision. Evie silently decides to watch the man, or have him watched, discreetly, but shrugs in response as she does not know.) He is greatly enjoying himself when he tells her that his Eagle Vision was extremely useful in the investigation, however. Being able to track footprints does indeed seem useful for more than just helping out the police, and she commits the idea to mind.
