I did keep any typos while writing on the forum part for realism.

Supernatural AU
Summary: Sam, posting under the username xcalbr, meets up with his internet buddy, dualevasive, from Carver Edlund's fan forum, and Ruby freaks out. B5 quote because. Possibly hinted at sex. Definitely kissing.

Rating: teen
“Ruby, what are you-” Sam broke off his question, snarling as she slammed Matt into the wall. He liked Matt, who was his friend, who’d been so helpful as he searched for answers in the most impossible of places.
“Saving you from your naïveté. Are you stupid enough to actually buy that he’s just your average human? He’s using you, Sam.” Her eyes flicked black. She meant business. She really believed it.
“He’s not.” Matt had better not be dead, or no matter what she promised him the only thing she’d be getting from him would be a dagger in the chest.
“Okay, he’s not now. He’s trying to get your trust. Once he has that, he will screw you.” She really was worried. That she was losing her control, or something else…?
“I…won’t.” The words were quiet, coughed out, and from the sound of it with some blood. He glanced over to see Matt standing with difficulty, pulling himself out of the rubble. “When she says she’s not lying to you, she’s lying. Everyone lies. The innocent lie because they don’t want to be blamed for something they didn’t do, and the guilty lie because they have no other choice.”
“Which are you?” Ruby spat.
A somewhat dark smile flashed over Matt’s face, a look Sam hadn’t seen before. “Both.” He glanced over at Sam, focused all his attention on him. “I’m sorry. I wanted to tell you the truth, but I honestly thought you would stab first and ask questions later. But you should probably know she’s been lacing practically everything with demon blood. The last thing you’ve had that’s been clean was that Red Eye in the café.” The emotion actually sounded genuine. He glanced back at Ruby, stretching his neck and back. The room turned a little darker, and suddenly a sword was in his hand, with black etchings and an obsidian circle on the hilt and what looked like wings. The silver, black, and steel…or whatever metal the blade was made of…glittered, beautiful and terrifying, in his hand. And as the room darkened, Sam thought he saw the shadow of two sets of wings on Matt’s shadow on the wall, one a tattered mass of unkempt feathers, the one below leathery, dragon-like wings. The wing-shadows were there for but a moment, then disappeared, swallowed by the mass of darkness in the room. “Don’t you dare touch him.” A dark undercurrent ran through the voice.
And then he blinked, and then the both of them were gone. The light gradually returned to usual, but Sam still didn’t move. He was just beginning to find his feet again, only to find the ground was all an illusion.
Dualevasive and Xcalbr IM session
xcalbr: If you’re there, dualevasive, I have…some questions. A lot of questions.
xcalbr: I’ve been messaging you for days
xcalbr: Please, I need to understand
dualevasive is no longer invisible
dualevasive: Sorry, I…I really didn’t want you to find out like that
xcalbr: no kidding.
dualevasive: I’d say please don’t be angry but that’s kind of appropriate
xcalbr: What did you do with Ruby?
dualevasive: scared her off probably
dualevasive: sorry, she…I don’t like her. At all, really
xcalbr: Why, because you follow Lilith?
dualevasive: ha, that brat
dualevasive: no way
dualevasive: I’m kind of a…freelancer, I guess you could say
xcalbr: there are no freelancers in Hell. You’ve all got your commanders
dualevasive: …and you’re qualified to be an expert, right? 9_9
dualevasive: tho I’m one to talk
dualevasive: I’ve only been there once recently, under protest I might add
dualevasive: and just now staged a jailbreak. I’m the Cooler King I guess
dualevasive: If more effective
xcalbr: what, you didn’t like your evil overlord?
dualevasive: you’re awfully fixated on that aren’t you? I said I didn’t have one and I meant it
dualevasive: actually I like it up here
dualevasive: as a human
dualevasive: I was living a nice human life-no slaughter or deals or anything like that I might add-and then I met you
dualevasive: in Stanford, actually
dualevasive: and Azazel didn’t take to the fact that a powerful unaffiliated guy like me was anywhere near his master prize
dualevasive: so yeah, I took ~35 years torture down under for you
dualevasive: …Sorry, that came off as whiny and annoyed didn’t it?
dualevasive: I shouldn’t be entitled. I could have chosen to run the other way but I didn’t
dualevasive: because you were interesting and not-boring and I liked you
xcalbr: I don’t remember you
dualevasive: you wouldn’t, I wasn’t there for very long before they paniced
dualevasive: random Japanese kid. We even just met at one of those parties that you didn’t go to very much so yeah, you wouldn’t remember too much
xcalbr:
xcalbr: No.
dualevasive: Yeah sorry
xcalbr: How long have you been…what about Matt?
dualevasive: he’s been dead for a long time pretty much since I left London. and before you ask no I didn’t kill him. he was in a coma and I gave him a choice-I could heal him or help him move on and he could give me his body. he chose to move on. not a bad decision, btw, he got a nice slice of heaven
xcalbr: heaven…is real?
dualevasive: there are demons. duh.
xcalbr: You don’t have to be rude about it.
dualevasive: No, sorry. It’s just…
dualevasive: believe it or not, I’ve never had a friend before. So having you act like this, deserved or not…it hurts.
xcalbr: I can believe that. You demons aren’t the cuddliest
dualevasive: If it helps, my real name is ‘Aramoch’. Or ‘Arariel’, when I was an angel. You’ve got someplace to look that up, right?
xcalbr: Yes. Why are you telling me this? I’ll find some pretty horrible stuff about you right?
dualevasive: …You’re not wrong, but it’s not all like that. I want you to see how I changed
dualevasive: I want you to know who I am. Was. I want you to understand
xcalbr: I’ll talk to you later then
Dualevasive and Xcalbr IM session
xcalbr: So, I talked to my contacts
dualevasive: And?
xcalbr: It reads…well, odd.
dualevasive: I’m not a demon, if that makes a difference
xcalbr: Yeah, I know
dualevasive: ? okay, how?
xcalbr: Your wings kind of gave it away. You’re a fallen angel, aren’t you?
dualevasive: …you saw them?
xcalbr: Just for a second, when you were facing off with Ruby and the lights got dark
dualevasive: …Wow.
dualevasive: thats weird because I donot…the fluffy wings anyway. I don’t have.
…I was Merkabah be4 I fell and no it’s not cherubim, I’m not always naked thank goodness
…uh, sorry, random rambly typing
dualevasive: I probably shoudlnt’ mention this but I’m kind of turned on actually
dualevasive: sorry, that was unprofessional, you’re a hunter, I’m the thing you’re hunting, right?
xcalbr: I’m not sure about that, actually
dualevasive: oh?
xcalbr: Well, you scared Ruby. I could tell. You could probably take out Lilith, right?
dualevasive: …Honestly, it would be difficult. Azazel’s goons were able to drag me back to the underworld. My powers have been dwindling. At the moment, I’m really powerful, but I’m just a demon
xcalbr: and you could probably get Dean out
dualevasive: …actually, the angels are trying to get him out
xcalbr: What?
dualevasive: part of what got me to scoot my butt out of there actually. I’m not gonna stick around to get roasted. ‘course I have no idea how long it’ll take them. Laying siege to that place isn’t easy, and the torture dungeons are pretty deep. but help is coming for Dean Winchester
xcalbr: …I could kiss you for telling me that. So Dean will be saved?
dualevasive: Yeah, they were sending in multiple garrisons even though they were getting slaughtered, so it’s pretty important to the God Squad
xcalbr: I…hate the thought of him being down there any longer than he has to be, but as long as the angels will help…you couldn’t have busted him out too though
dualevasive: Sorry. I tried, but he…din’t want to come
dualevasive: and if I’d waited longer, he would’ve gotten punished worse than normal and I’d have lost my chance to make a break for it
dualevasive: I really wish I could’ve helped there
xcalbr: he thought escaping would break the deal, didn’t he?
dualevasive: I didn’t ask him to explain, he was just kind of real insistent he wasn’t going anywhere
xcalbr: …the guy I’ve been getting to know. It’s been real right?
dualevasive: Why would you trust me to say the truth, not just what you want to he-You put a truth spell on me didn’t you?
xcalbr: It’s a perk of having a bunch of books for research. They did guarantee it would work on demons or your money back
dualevasive: kawaii <3
dualevasive: Sorry, it’s just…You’re no slouch. You know to cover your bases, but you’ve got guts too
dualevasive: I’m pretty sure some of the geeky stuff is residue. but it’s not like he’s here anymore to affect anything. It’s kind of like…his legacy I guess, but I could fight it off if I really had to and I can’t tell the difference anymore, what’s from me, what’s from my host. I could guess but…I do all of this stuff without thinking. I just be who I would be as a human with some outside influence
dualevasive: I mean, I like humanity. I like going to high school and homework and all the foibles and little quirks and just human things. And of course the stories. You people tell the best stories.
xcalbr: And that stuff about you being knighted and a protector of London?
dualevasive: I’m sure they exaggerated some stuff, but yeah
xcalbr: Okay, what can I do to help? I really do want Lilith’s head on a plate you know
dualevasive: I got that. Your soul’s all dark with revenge. It’s…revolting and atractive at the same time
xcalbr: …What’s that supposed to mean?
dualevasive: revenge was invented by demons. it’s the best way to lure people in
dualevasive: and I really, really don’t want to lose you. and I don’t want to examine that too closely
xcalbr: You’re misdirecting now
dualevasive: Yeah, sorry. I…recently figured out something
xcalbr: before me?
dualevasive: Yeah, not much before. I didn’t make the choice to Fall.
dualevasive: See, the preferred term for us is Lost Souls. Because we’re Lost to the Host. We all supposedly make the conscious choice to follow Luci, to rebel against Heaven. I always knew I didn’t do it to follow Luci. I just figured it was because I’ve always had trouble following orders. I’ve always had a bit more of a human mind. Free will and all that
dualevasive: Turns out I didn’t make the choice, though. I remembered. I was having doubt. I wanted to look at the humans, figure out what the huge deal was about. It was a time of war.
dualevasive: Raphael, he’s one of the archangels, he saw that doubt and he thought it was too dangerous. You have to hate Nazis and that has to be your only goal. Peace? You must be a dirty Jerry. I wasn’t single-minded enough. I might start another rebellion. He asked me to meet him. He waited until my back was turned, then cut out my Grace.
dualevasive: You can’t imagine the pain. The tortures of Hell arent’ half as bad. He pushed me, and I Fell. And I was in such a state. I could barely remember my name for a while. But when I Fell, I Fell to Earth. Which is where I stayed for a while.
dualevasive: I just recently figured out that they kept my Grace. And it was taken from me. I didn’t give it up.
dualevasive: I want it back.
dualevasive: Which is wny I shouldn’t have wings that you could see-my demon wings, sure, maybe, thoiugh that’s not even that normal but
dualevasive: Angel wings come frm grace an d I don’t have that
dualevasive: And it would probably help with Lilith. Though we should probably talk about that. I don’t like the way she’s acting. Getting a Winchester with blood vengeance on her tail? That’s a terrible idea and every member of the supernatural walk of life knows that. Why would anyone do that on purpose?
xcalbr: Would that involve killing an angel?
dualevasive: Well, we can’t have him going back and reporting to Raphie, can we?
xcalbr: …I may actually have an idea about that. Do you need an address, or…
dualevasive: actually I can just fly. And to you it would look like teleporting.
xcalbr: beam yourself up
dualevasive: that was terrible. b there in 2 sec
The Trickster appeared, looking annoyed.
“I know you have no reason to help us, but just listen.”
“Hello, Gabe.”
“Hey, stop standing there!” Matt was grinning softly, blue-green eyes dancing happily. “We’re going to miss the seminar, slowpoke.”
Sam stuck out his tongue, feeling playful. “That’s the one you wanted to go to. I thought it sounded boring.”
Matt’s eyes suddenly glimmered…tears? He poked out his bottom lip, pouting adorably. “You tol’ me you’d go…”
Sam actually giggled and swooped down, kissing that pouty lip. Matt couldn’t keep up the unhappy mood and dissolved into a fit of helpless laughter, begging him breathlessly and unconvincingly to stop. He wanted to keep it up, but they were in public, and he wasn’t really wanting to make them late. He backed up to give his boyfriend time to breathe, beaming widely. Matt was smiling goofily himself, brain slightly drifting. He looked like he wanted to lean in again. Sam wanted to keep kissing, too, but instead he smiled and laced his fingers through the shorter man’s.
A disheveled man opened the door.
“Hi!” Matt exclaimed, grinning as if he had no care in the world, hands in his pockets.
The door slammed shut.
The two exchanged glances, then Sam pounded on the door.
“Go away!” the man yelled from inside, muffled.
“If you know who we are, you know we won’t give up or go away,” Matt called. Outside, he was still calm, pleasant, happy, but Sam could feel the wings flapping nervously or bunching up unhappily.
The door opened slowly, cautiously, and the man inside peered out of the doorway. “I never told anyone about you,” he stated quietly, not taking his eyes off the fallen angel.
Sam pushed past him into the house as politely as he could manage. “I believe you sent my brother to Hell.”
The man yelped and withdrew into himself. “I’m drunk. This is a hallucination. Please don’t kill me.”
“If this is a hallucination, I can’t hurt you,” Sam pointed out, sitting down on the couch and motioning for Charles to sit in the chair opposite. Meekly Charles followed directions and sat down. Matt leaned against the wall, still playing casual, the wings held as still as possible but still jittering, almost as nervous as this guy was. Sam had never seen Matt nervous before, even when they’d been plotting to get his Grace back.
