Main Points:
Persona 4 AU (Innocent Sin)
Summary: This is a sketch (in terms of detail, not art) probably from 2015. It's a character study (and oooh boy is Ceirahn kind of Majima before I even knew Majima existed, whoops) but it's not very storyish, which is why it's background material, not fanfic.
Ceirahn seems smarter than Yosuke. This isn’t actually the case, not really, but it’s easy to make the mistake.
Ceirahn applies himself more. It’s not the fact that Yosuke doesn’t have brains or that the Siren does. Ceirahn just goes out of his way to use them more.
He doesn’t care about sticking out like Yosuke does, so he really has no reason not to say what he thinks or feels. Ceirahn, in his fully lost state, even ridiculed Yosuke, the kid he’d once been, for being too afraid to go after what he really wants. He didn’t really remember or care about the past, though, preferring to revel in the present. For as laid back as Yosuke is and attempts to appear, he tends to focus on the past, worrying over this detail or that one, worried that no one really likes him and they’re all just pretending. And maybe half of it is his fault. Did he mess up in that conversation, say or do something he shouldn’t have? Did he neglect to say or do something he should have? He’ll scrutinize every word and decision far more than he should.
For all that, though, Ceirahn has an intensity and ambition that Yosuke lacks. When Yosuke’s really relaxed, he’s as laid back and just generally fun to be around as he likes to portray. Ceirahn doesn’t plan to become emperor of the world, no, but he also doesn’t care. If there’s something he wants, he’ll work to get it. If he wants it enough, nothing is really out of his reach.
