I mean, there’s no guarantees, but it occurs to me if the problem… {roommate} Right… Is the directions… {roommate} Yeah. ‘Cause if it is a difference of ‘it’s required for the PC version but not the original’… Yeah. {roommate} Then the conflicting stuff it’s getting between I’m running both a controller and a keyboard might be a factor.

Yeah. No guarantees. {roommate} Right. But if it does work that way we can probably get you through everything with a lot of ease because the only problems I can recall you having enough trouble to need my help for them were these sections. {roommate} Right.

I know I had a laptop one (button to turn off keyboard) ‘cause I accidentally kept turning it off. But.

Keyboard ‘shortcut’. I don’t want to use— {roommate} Alternate programs? Yeah. {roommate} Considering we can’t download those? Yeah. (We’re not the admins on other roommate’s computer.)

What in the world is an ‘insert frequency’? That how many times he’s like “that didn’t happen” or what? Yeah, good question. {roommate} (Steam had an answer that I didn’t understand; the ubisoft forum had one that I did. Basically, how frequently do you want to be reminded of basic tutorial stuff? Given that I have forgotten about multiple mechanics while playing the game, I should probably have had that one on high. Now you know, past!future!self.)

…The…the keyboard is unplugged. Oh yeah. I can try to get it plugged back in long enough to look up these. {roommate} Yeah, that’s probably important.

Cause I don’t think we can get through the game if it’s just directional presses. And I don’t think that’s the way it’s supposed to be. {roommate} And the thing is I’ve looked this up and nobody else has said anything about it.

(Future!me finds that the Steam community is pretty sure the camera, at least, is a port problem. There are a couple other bugs that I didn’t encounter but the overall feel I’ve gotten from a quick search is that it’s not one of the well-done ports. [There are some good ports out there but this is one of the ones that reinforces the stereotypes.])
