Main Points:
Buffy/Yakuza AU, follow-up to Finding Their Feet (because really, the order after the introduction doesn't matter as much)
Chapter Summary: faster to read
Word Count: 280
Rating: Teen
It’s weird working with Oz. He’s never quite known how to treat the guy after the breakup, and it’s even weirder when Willow visits. It didn’t help that when the werewolf showed up the first thing he asked was whether he could join the Sanctuary staff. He’s been nothing but respectful as an employee, which was honestly kind of Twilight Zone, though his patented sense of humor does show up eventually. “Willow was telling me that she didn’t expect you’d end up here when you were kids, but I remember the stories of Oxford.”
The laugh catches him off guard, but Oz looks quietly pleased and some of the stress melts off his shoulders, so it worked exactly as intended.
He’s also sweet, but that’s to be expected. It’s his idea to put up the board with everyone working shifts that day, their preferred pronouns, and their categories of customers. He also performs as live entertainment, sometimes.
“I haven’t played in a while.” He’s wistful. “Broke a few strings the other day.”
Chandi-chan can play piano, though largely only as background. Dani-chan sometimes performs with a rap battle against various customers, but it really does help to make the place feel more classy. On his good days, Xander joins in with singing, and Laura-chan isn’t bad either.
He rarely joins in with ashigaru affairs, but when he feels like it he’ll simply show up when they’re leaving.

Oz’s tattoo is simple, but traditional. He’s not the only one with an irezumi of a Buddha, Majima’s memories supply. He is very possibly the only one with a guitar to the left in the grass and a moon above to the right.
