“Do you think that maybe you can cut it out with those antics on stage this time, Yugi?”
Mokuba tries to ignore the old argument to concentrate on his homework. He isn’t very successful.
He’s also trying to ignore the unsettling feeling that Yugi’s taller. It always makes him uncomfortable, but then, he’s always preferred talking to the star’s off-stage persona better. Yugi’s in full star mode right now, smiling dangerously, all the power in those kohl-rimmed eyes focused completely on Seto.
“So says the man who loves to make an entrance. Are you sure it’s not jealousy?” The deep voice is one that Mokuba knows from the swarm of girls in his class has captured the hearts of many.
Seto folds his arms, glaring. “Don’t push me. Or I’ll book your next appearance at a strip club.”
Yugi’s not at all threatened, smile growing to a smirk. “Do it. I’ve always been curious.”
Mokuba sighs. “Please stop, Yugi.” He silently hands Seto a painkiller, which his brother downs without water, and Yugi instantly switches to concern. It’s still not the Other Yugi, but this one is easier to deal with.
“You didn’t tell me you had another migraine.” The sound of shifting leather is audible in the limosine as Yugi moves, looking the slightest bit guilty.
“Like I wanted anyone hovering! I’m hardly an invalid, and I need neither pity nor the gathering of vultures!” Kaiba snaps, and violet eyes soften.
“Of course. Another attempted takeover?”
Mokuba snorts. “When isn’t there?”
And they pull up to the venue. “Behave yourself, that reporter’s supposed to be on her way,” Kaiba snarls, allowing himself one more forehead rub before he completely straightens and stands up as the door opens, sweeping out with trenchcoat snapping behind him, expecting the others to stay in his wake or get washed out with the tide.
