Chapter Summary: How many days have you gone without getting kidnapped?

A groan reaches my ears, and I realize that I’m not alone. I look over to see a man who would be practically harmless looking if not for the eyepatch settle his head back against a pillar. “I’m going to blame dawn for this one.”
I blink. “Bad time of day for you?"
He laughs. “It’s her turn to get kidnapped. I don’t remember what day it is, but given where I am, it’s gotta be a Tuesday.”
Oh, so a person, not the time of day. “It’s not my first time being kidnapped.” It’s also not that often, mostly because people seem to think that taking a wizard whose common, completely unintended I swear, pastime is blowing things up is a bad idea. Go figure.
That’s definitely a smirk. “Maybe we should make a group, or something. Kidnapees anonymous. We could have cookies.”
This guy is cool. We might as well be at Mac’s for as seriously as he’s taking this. Still, I can’t help the snort at the image. “What, and offer them out of big black vans?”
He chuckles, too. “Why not?”
