Go read Days Count, Keep the Tally by swampy/Headed Mints on Ao3, it's a much, much better look at this than this drabble I cranked out after watching the finale and only just now got around to posting.  Yagami really, really needed hospital attention after that finale.

          “All right, now that Sugiura’s going to be okay, let’s go home, Tak—” Kaito begins, only to turn and find that Yagami’s on his knees, and he’s definitely pale.  “Tak!”
          “I’ve probably got a concussion,” he confesses.  He’s sweating.  “Sorry, Kaito, I think you’re going home by yourself today.”
          “Like hell I’m going anywhere when my best friend’s in the hospital.”  That earns a thin, watery smile, even as he helps his buddy up.  “Hey, doc!”  There has to be at least one nearby.
