“Forgive me for asking; I know it’s none of my business, but…I haven’t seen you and Raidou hold hands or show affection of any kind.  Did something happen?”
         Narumi expected a lot of things from Tae, but this wasn’t one of them.  Then again, she had a habit of jumping to conclusions and just being a tad odd in general.  He held a hand to his head.  “Still on that, are we?  I told you; nothing in it.”
         As the conversation continued, though, the ‘slightly strange’ changed to ‘downright abnormal’.
         “You don’t have to deny it!  I know all about it!  Besides, you know that makes Raidou feel terrible every single time you do that.  Like he’s unwanted.”
         Tae getting fixated on ideas was nothing new, but usually it was stuff that would make a great scoop, not little idiocies like these.  “Tae, these flights of fancy are going to be your undoing someday.”
         The woman stared him down .  “No wonder he’s been all mopey lately.  You two had a fight.  You boys are going to get your act together!”  Now she’s going to attempt to play matchmaker.  Does her meddling know no end?  Before he could protest, though, she’d left.
         And left him with the bill, when she’d promised so cheerfully that lunch was on her.  Well, just the usual.
