Right-Hand Man
Main Points:
Ace Attorney/Persona 4 AU
Chapter Summary: Apollo's library notes on what he finds on Clay's Arcana and Persona.
Word Count: 480
Rating: Teen
Clay’s my right-hand guy, and his Major Arcana is kinda one of the main reasons I called him right after I put my hand through the TV and had him verify that it wasn’t just that I hadn’t slept in 34 hours and was hallucinating. Shut up. That midterm was really important. He is simultaneously my anchor and more social than I am. If only one of the people in this party could have common sense, it’d be this guy. Hence Judgment. Sometimes he’s even more practical than me, because sometimes I get too caught up in thinking about something and not enough in the actual doing of that thing and he just grabs me by the shoulders and shoves me in the right direction. I whine about it enough in the moment, but I don’t actually mind, because without him sometimes I just wouldn’t get off my butt. Judgment because he’s the guy who understands life the most out of everyone I know, and he’s generally good about going with the flow and accepting when things go bad. Not always, as I saw from his Shadow, but still. He’s very practical and has a lot to share, not just wisdom but stories too. He sometimes blames himself for stuff, and wasn’t dealing too well with the fact that for the first time we’ve been attending different schools, but we’ve gotten better about talking about that, because without his Shadow I would never have guessed.
His secondary Arcana are Fortune (confidently seizing one’s fate), Devil (for when he’s being mischievous, probably), Temperance (balance, stability, and the occasional lack of planning) and Magician (confident, creative action hero, good at not being bored). Also, I’m getting weirded out at how many of us can use Fortune Personas.
Clay’s initial Persona is a Titan-slash-god of the dusk, Astraeus, who’s associated with a lot of space things. Unlike a lot of the Titans, he doesn’t seem to be particularly destructive, which fits. Mostly, it seems like he didn’t really try to take a side. There’s not a lot talking about his role in Judgment, though there was a lot of doomsday things going on around the Titans’ very existence. Probably the most clear connection is that he’s probably the one most connected with astrology, and since Clay’s a space nut studying to become an astronomer, it represents the strength of his calling that his Persona would basically just be a living embodiment of his being a space nerd. As makes sense for a space-associated Persona, he’s got light and dark. To round it out, he’s got one wind spell (there’s also a connection to the winds), which is useful for finding an enemy’s weaknesses, and a healing spell (and, well, a resurrection spell which sees more use than it really should), so Clay’s pretty useful when it comes to putting together a party, too.
