If you can't get enough of the Soul Society pre-Turn Back the Pendulum (i.e. me), you should check out Meifu's Gate.  You'll get hours of entertaining reading out of it (but, uh, be more intelligent than me and start when you actually have time vs when you should be working on homework.  It's nice that it's broken up into volumes, but I didn't find that helped much because I got to the end of one and just kept saying 'but I need to know what happens next'.  So, yeah, block out time).  It is longer and without the shipping of the later work Cat's Cradle, so I'd say it has a wider audience. 
The characterization is amazing and I love the worldbuilding in, well, Bleach and even more so here, because I get that Bleach is shounen but I'm here for the awesome world that you're just using as a backdrop for your fights, Kubo. 
This was one of two fics that formed my headcanons which is an amazing feeling (you've probably noticed by now that I love fics with awesome plot and yet more worldbuilding that add a lot to the original story).

Hiya,
I got linked this a few days ago by a friend who said you were suggesting my fanfic was like or copying another. Reading it for myself that's not what you're saying, but my story was online a lot longer than the other one, and so I kind of hurt a bit that you compare mine with theirs, rather than the other way around.

Call it writer ego if you like, but, aside the most recent story, all of Meifu existed before the other story was written. I haven't read the other story, so don't have a clue what it's like - but would really appreciate it if you'd change up your review so it can't be read like I copied something written a LOT later.

Hi, sorry about that! It's probably the order in which I found the stories, but I'll change that.
Mostly I think I meant that they were both awesome in terms of quality and had some similar headcanons I think most of the fandom shares, so I'll talk more about that.
