The Fox's Cry: Chapter 1

Kidding! Posting now because I can't school right now.  So have fic!
Unfortunately, my new computer crashed with some of my new stuff, so some stuff was lost.  But not much.  I never thought I'd say I'm happy I haven't gotten to write too much lately.  Anyway, let's see what old fic I can dredge up that I haven't uploaded yet...
Okay, that'll do.  Forgive me, my naming skills are...less than great, sometimes.

[...I may call myself a dork or things that I like dorky or dorks but really dreamwidth that emoticon really that's how we're going to play this...?
...I don't actually know whether to be annoyed or happy.]

Main Points: Persona 4/Angel Crossover AU
Chapter Summary:
Angel looks for help from an old friend.
Word Count: 531
Rating: Teen?  (Off-camera sex scene)
Note:  Souji/Yosuke, Kitsune!Yosuke.  I'm oddly fond of this one.

Angel knew, the minute he entered the apartment, that this was the wrong moment to have called.  He wouldn’t have done so if it hadn’t been urgent, but it was clear his friend was busy.  He stood uncomfortably in the entrance, aware that it would soon be over by the moans and rhythm of body against body echoing throughout the rooms.  It wouldn’t take long, but in the meantime, he had to put up with the awkwardness of having walked in on something so personal and the memories, awful and beautiful, rising up to haunt him.

A loud fox’s scream was followed shortly by a husky male voice yelling his partner’s name.  Panting followed.

Then a voice he didn’t recognize told the other, “I think you have company.”  Shifting.

“Of course I do.  I’ve got you right here, partner,” the voice he recognized replied, sounding happy and playful.  “Where are you going?”  He was pouting now.

“I mean, you have other company.  I heard the door open.  And I’m guessing it’s business.”  The voice was fairly monotone and refusing to be distracted.

“You don’t…you don’t have to go…  Apparently, the whiny voice didn’t make any difference.

A young Japanese man appeared at the arch between the entryway and the bedroom, buttoning his shirt.  He was fairly young and good-looking, with a bowl of silver hair to match the eyes.  He laughed.  “Call me later, Yosuke.  I mean it.  I don’t care that you hate telephones.”

            “Mrrrph.”

The man nodded at Angel, with what might have been a slight smile hovering around the eyes, and then was gone.

People’s lives depended on this, the reformed vampire reminded himself.  He stepped into the bedroom gingerly.

His friend had buried himself under the blankets, face-down in the pillow, until only the messy head of auburn hair could be seen.  “Mrrargh,” he was informed in no uncertain terms.

“I’m sorry to have interrupted.  I didn’t know who else to call.  And I didn’t even think you had a telephone, much less would answer it, so…”  He walked to the front of the bed and stared down at the unmoving ball of hair.

Eventually it tilted upward, and one eye opened slowly.  “This had better be good.  How’d you get in, anyway?”

Well, that was sort of awkward.  Not like this whole situation wasn’t, of course.  “You…invited me, remember?”

The lone eye rolled skyward.  “Not that.  I mean, the door was locked.  You didn’t even knock.”

“I did.  But you didn’t answer, and it was important.”  He settled for standing awkwardly, rather than leaning against the headrest-slash-bookcase.

Yosuke yawned, sticking out his tongue and showing his teeth like he would have done in his natural form.  “Life and death, huh?”

            Angel nodded.

“Mmm.  Well, let me get dressed, and then it’s off to save the world.”  He yawned again.  “Also, for the record, I hate the sewers.  Why you don’t just stay inside like all good little vampires during the day, I’ve never understood.”  He stretched out, eyes still only half open.  Then he got up, completely unashamed of his nudity, and walked to the closet along the wall.  Angel quickly escaped back to the entryway.
