Buffy might be misgendering here.  She doesn’t have a big understanding of LGBTQ+, it’s the freakin’ 90s, and Xander doesn’t know where they fall yet, but it should be mentioned.  (Xander ends up being okay with he or they interchangeably, but it’s still a better idea to ask.)   Some of it's due to Majima, but in this particular universe Xander had also showed some interest before, only Tony Harris is not the most open-minded of individuals.
