You can thank this new post on the fact that Beta Senpai got me the Armored Adventures Season 1. I forgot how good the writing was. I didn't forget how good the theme was.
I also got out of writing this because the whole boss/employee relationship thing with Krista started wigging me out. I might rewrite that.

        “Hey, uh. Guys? You hearing that?” Tony fiddles with the earpiece, but it’s still picking up…something. He can’t quite make it out, but…as much as he’d like to just write off the whole thing as a coincidence or his equipment on the fritz, at some point he’s got to look at the pattern, right? It’s pretty much never been a coincidence.
        “If you’re talking hearing Pepper, then yeah. She’s been talking my ear off trying to figure out what you have planned for her birthday. Which is in a few weeks, by the way. I’m pretty sure she’s expecting lasers, Tony. Lasers.” Rhodey’s not listening. As usual. It’s definitely not Pepper. It sounds kind of like a teenager’s voice, sure, but a male teenager’s.
        They really need to work on this communication thing. Which would be easier if any of them were any good at this. Sure, maybe that’s what his dad was trying to teach him, requiring this whole ‘school’ thing, but while it was giving them more practice, they also didn’t seem to be getting any better at it.
        And it’s not like they’ll listen to him suggesting anything. They’d suggest something was wrong, and still not listen to him.
        Maybe he could talk to Mrs. Rhodes. They might listen to her. Maybe.
        “No, it’s—” He sighs and shakes his head. “Never mind. It can wait.” Sure, it’s kind of important and it probably can’t wait long, but he’s got something else going on right now. Specifically, yet another break-in to yet another SI facility that will probably end in yet another supervillain attack, because his life is unfortunately predictable like that. Just in case, though, he sets his suit on analyzing the extra signals. Maybe they can pick up something his puny human ears can’t.
        “Just a hint? Pretty please?” Pepper begs, and he grins.
        “Nope. I’m not spoiling a thing. You’re just going to have to wait like a good little Pepper.” Movement. It’s time for Iron Man.
        And if he’s grinning at Pep’s whine in response, well. No one can see underneath the suit.
