Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Game Review/Commentary 35
I’m a bit rusty. Whee. I’m glad you glommed onto that because we would not have survived that. My hands are now a little bit sweaty.
Do I have any more tea? I do have a bit. Imma drink some more tea. And then Imma continue on.
Hello! Hey. {roommate} It took forever to get this working because my controller decided to stop, and now I might be a little rusty because I keep dying. Like that.
No, Prince, stop that. Ugh. You’re supposed to hit the jump button when you hit the wall. ‘Course this might be another glitched part?
I’ve done this, like the last time I was playing I’ve done this, but he keeps hitting the wall with his hands instead of actually— moving? Uhhh. Could you try going to the other wall? {roommate}
No, you have to—like I said, I’ve done this part before, so you do have to jump this part down. Yeah, maybe try double tapping. {roommate}
I can try. If all else fails I can maybe try restarting it. Sometimes that helps. With ledges. See, this is as far as I can get.
…maybe I’m supposed to be doing it from here? Maybe. {roommate}
Maybe a bit further to the right? {roommate} I can try.
…not that far, Prince, that’s just going to get you killed. There was a part in the baths that was bugged and I had to use the Sands of Time to hit the wall mid-jump. Because the actual initial jump was messed up.
Wait, that’s not right. I didn’t fall. Let me start again. [Prince] Are you sure? {roommate} I mean, he did fall, but he has the Sands of Time, so he can make himself un-fall.
We can always try restarting. Quit to main menu. You wish me to leave before finishing my story? As you wish. [Prince] Yeah, we’re gonna be back in a minute.
Anyway, I came down to get a soda-thing, and then I’m going to bed. {roommate} Right. It’s fine. Yesterday was just irritating. {roommate} Yesterday? Well, today too. Actually, today mostly. {roommate} I was gonna say, I think it’s still Friday. I could be wrong on that, but I feel like this is still Friday. Among other things I have yet to watch Jjojo. I will to disbelieve. {roommate}
If all else fails, I can replay the last part. See if that helps at all. Yeah. {roommate} I don’t want to, because I’m halfway and I’m excited for what comes, but whee.
Lord of the Rings is still down, by the way. {roommate} Ahh. Yeah, I’d kind of gotten that impression, but. Yeaaaah. They borked something royally. {roommate} Like I’m about to.
No, stop hitting that with your hands. You need to hit with your feet. Well, maybe try it while he’s midair? {roommate} Yeeeaaah. I’m going to try that next.
No? …what did he just do? Okay, there, I got one.
Okay, so you’re supposed to hit it twice? {roommate} You’re supposed to keep bouncing.
Oh, you know how I feel, Riso. {roommate} Some days you just can’t get rid of a bomb, amirite? Yeah. {roommate} Some days you can’t even find the bomb.
Yeah. So my guess is double tap super quick on the jump thing. {roommate} Well, the thing is, the last time I played this I had it down because I had to do it a couple times, but the game is also fairly glitchy, so. Right. {roommate}
It’s a timing thing.
What did you even do there? (laughs) What was he holding, man? He was pressing himself against the wall. {roommate} I mean…yeah.
You saw that, he kinda did it correctly…I slowed down time! Yes you did. {roommate} I slowed down time, that’ll help, right?
Uhh. Uhhhh. I actually got past this part. I should maybe just stop. I know what I’m doing. I know how to get to the next part. You do know what you’re doing. {roommate}
Riiight before he hits. …what did he even do?
Well, it would help if you actually cooperated with me, Prince. You’re telling the story badly. This is your fault. All your fault, Mr. Prince. {roommate}
How did I fix it last time? How did I…I mean, the last-last time I had to use the Sands of Time and just did stuff, but. Do you have a note in here or something? {roommate} I mean, I recorded everything, but I just don’t know which session that was even in.
Ummmm. I don’t know. That doesn’t help me. That doesn’t help me either.
Wall-to-wall? {roommate} I know. Okay, so they say, uh. {roommate} See, I know timing is the thing.
Uh, maybe hit a bit after? {roommate} I dooo. The problem is, I ran into this in the other one, when he hits the wall with his hands—to do it properly he has to hit the wall with his feet first. The instant he hits the walls with his feet, you press the jump button. If he hits the walls with his hands, it doesn’t matter when you hit the jump button, he won’t jump. What a loser. {roommate} I know, right?
Yeah. You could try randomly clicking it. {roommate} I did that too. Hmm. Let me have a try? Which one is the jump button? {roommate} Ummm, on the keyboard? No, on the controller. {roommate} On this, it’s this one. Okay. {roommate}
Let me at least get you to that part. I mean, I can at least try, y’know? {roommate} Yeah.
I’m glad he gloms onto that because it’s not actually that tall.
Oh, and the Sands of Time which you turn back time is that L2 button right there. Okay. {roommate} Okay, you just slowed down time but it’s fine. You have to look behind you with that button and then you jump. You just turned back time. You don’t turn back time until you fail. Like that. Oh, I see. You have to keep it selected. {roommate} And yeah, you have to keep it down.
